When Lisa Newman’s family needs help, she does whatever is needed for them. Her grandchildren needed a home and she took them in and has raised them as if they were her own. A foster child in need of a place to stay had to look no farther than Newman’s home at Kenton Village Apartments for a new family.

The Nov. 17 fire at the Scioto Village Apartments in Kenton was selected the top local story of 2015 in a poll of Kenton Times’ employees. Also on the list was the rape conviction of a former court bailiff, economic improvements to the community and the actions of a police officer in saving a woman’s life.

ADA — The Ada Police Department is investigating the death of a woman in her home Wednesday morning. According to a press release from Police Chief Michael Harnishfeger, at 7:39 a.m. Wednesday, officers, along with the Ada Liberty Rescue Squad, were called to 439 E. Lehr.
