ADA — A late fourth quarter push by the Ada Bulldogs girls basketball team brought them to within eight points, but they came up short as Arlington took the 42-31 win on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs came out of the gate strong with a pair of 3s by Haley Wyss and Rachel Wildman. Wildman was the game’s leading scorer with 13.

Kenton rolls to win over Van Buren

VAN BUREN — Kenton was in control almost from the beginning Saturday night in a 58-30 nonconference girls basketball victory over Van Buren. “We got off to a quick start,” Kenton coach Ryan Miller said. “Sara Hoyt hit a 3-pointer on our second possession to start the scoring and the game was never any closer.

Strong third quarter lifts Gophers to win

VANLUE — Ridgemont turned an 11-point halftime lead into a 24-point advantage after the third quarter to take complete control in its 67-43 boys basketball victory over Valnue on Saturday. The Gophers (2-1) led 32-21 at halftime and outscored Vanlue 22-9 in the third quarter.

Poling helps HN to big win

MONCLOVA — Will Poling scored a game-high 22 points to lead Hardin Northern to a 58-37 boys basketball victory over Monclova Christian Academy on Saturday. Poling scored 12 points in the first half as the Polar Bears built a 33-20 lead.

Ben Logan dominates Greenon

SPRINGFIELD — Ben Logan dominated Greenon 82-29 on Saturday in a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division girls basketball game held at Springfield Northwestern High School. The Raiders (5-1, 2-0 CBC) scored 32 points in the second quarter to take a 52-20 lead into halftime. Ben Logan led 72-24 after three quarters.
