HARROD — The Kenton Youth Wrestling team had four first-place finishers and five runners-up Sunday at the Miami Valley Kids Wrestling Association meet hosted by Allen East. Tyson Hopkins pinned all three opponents he faced to win the 10-year-old, 126-pound division.

You know, it's funny how I look at all the books on my shelf that I read in college, others I read while in the seminary, and the ones that I have read since I graduated from the seminary in 1984, and struggle to remember something that I got out of them.

BELLE CENTER — A soup and sandwiches fundraiser is set for Saturday, Feb. 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until supplies run out at the Belle Center United Methodist Church, 202 E. Main St., Belle Center. Serving will be out of the church basement so people should enter through the back.

Some farmers have received a notice that informs them that their current pesticide applicator license will expire at the end of March 2016 and that they must complete their continuing education hours to renew before this date. The cost of renewal has increased since the last time and it will now cost $65.

The Hardin County Pork Producers will hold their annual pork banquet on Saturday, March 12 at St. John's Evangelical Church, starting at 6:30 p.m. The fun-filled evening will include selection of the queen and scholarship recipients as well as amazing food and door prizes.

The Fortnightly Literary Club met at the home of Marilyn Deever on Friday, Feb. 12. Penni Smith, vice president, opened the business meeting after thanking Marilyn for her hospitality and delicious refreshments. President Susan Dugan was unable to attend.

The Ambassador class of Faith Baptist Church will meet Monday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. for a pizza party. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
