Later start for R’mont board

MOUNT VICTORY — The starting time for the Ridgemont Board of Education regular meeting on Thursday, Feb. 25 has been changed from 5 to 6:30 p.m. It will be held in the conference room at the school.

Benjamin Logan kindergartner Penelope Elliott watched her older sisters prepare their projects for the elementary school’s science fair and wanted to be a part of the judging. Penelope was given special permission to participate and conducted experiments on how various brands of popcorn responded in the microwave.

Burglary charges net prison time

A Marion woman was sent to prison for four years after she pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey’s office, Amber N. Dunn, Marion, was sentenced to two years in prison for each of the two counts by Judge Scott Barrett.

FOREST — Forest clerk/treasurer Kathleen Cain reports that the 2015 Annual Report is completed and is available for complete review in the municipal offices, 211 W. Lima St. during regular business hours. The office is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Big run lifts Kenton to postseason win

SPENCERVILLE — Leading Shawnee by just two points late in the third quarter of a Division II girls basketball tournament game, Kenton went on a 13-1 run to extend the lead to 14. With just over half a quarter of play remaining, the Wildcats held on to grab a 50-37 win and advance to the DII sectional final against Western Buckeye League foe Bath.
