Volunteers with the American Red Cross of Hardin County responded to a home Sunday on Levings Street in Kenton. Red Cross volunteers Daryl Flowers and Amy Huber responded to the call for help at the home and provided the family of three, one adult and two children, with temporary shelter and assistance for immediate needs such as food and clothing.

The Kenton police and fire departments presented their case for additional staffing at a Kenton City Council finance committee meeting Monday night. Both KPD Chief Dennis Musser and KFD Chief Russ Blue were asked to return with more financial information showing how they can pay some or all of the cost for new staff hiring from their own budgets.

ALGER — A member of the Alger Village Council proposed an after school program in his village to battle the vandalism, drug use and boredom of the youth of the community, but council rejected the plan at its meeting Monday night.

DUNKIRK — Mayor Terry Cramer gave her report on the county-wide mayors meeting to the Dunkirk Council at its regular meeting Monday evening. Cramer informed council that at the meeting, the mayors heard from representatives of Swartz, a disaster cleanup company looking to work with the towns and villages in the county.

BELLEFONTAINE — Benjamin Logan High School has released its honor roll for the second nine weeks of the 2015-2016 school year.

People needing help to a digital resumé for their job search can visit two area libraries for assistance. One-on-one help creating a professional resumé is available at the Forest-Jackson Public Library in Forest and the Mary Lou Johnson-Hardin County District Library in Kenton.

The Hardin County Veterans Services Commission issued its report for the month of January. There were 25 vouchers written.
