President Jan Aller welcomed the 11 knitters to the Jan. 11 meeting of the Ohio Knit Wits with the roll call “what is your goal for knitting this year”.

The Knit Wits met for their first meeting in 2026. The December meeting was cancelled because of bad weather so the plans for that meeting were carried over to the January meeting. Knitters provided snacks for sharing and participated in reindeer games as planned and along with taking up a collection for donating to local charities.   A total of $140.00 was collected with an additional $10.00 given by Missie Austin to bring the total to $150.00. This year’s recipients of our annual giving will be the Neighborhood Opportunity Center and the Soup Kitchen. The motion was made by Max Pauley and seconded by Emil Gibson. This motion was approved by all.

The secretary’s previous month’s meeting minutes were emailed and approved by all.

The treasure’s report was filed for audit.

Thank you notes were received from the Forest-Wharton Community Food Pantry and volunteers from St Vincent De Paul.

Annual dues were also collected this month. Dues are $24.00 for the year.

Sunshine report: Cards were sent out to members as needed.

Four knitted shawls were turned in this month along with three dish cloths..

All knitted charity items will be collected on the even months as in the past.

The new group project for this year will be the MYSTERY KAL – Baby Blanket. Jan handed out the first 3 set of instructions today.
