Big 1st inning propels McComb past HN Posted on May 23, 2026 0 McCOMB — McComb racked up nine runs in the bottom of the first inning en route to a 14-0 five-inning win over Hardin Northern Friday in a Division VII baseball sectional final at McComb. McComb out-hit Hardin Northern 10-3. Luke Kern, Grady Schroeder and Gavin Letso all drove in two runs for McComb. Brayden Welty got the win on the mound as he struck out four and gave up three hits in four innings. River Guinn took the loss, going four innings with 10 hits and 14 runs given up. He struck out three and walked six. Kyler Sedlock, Corbian Blair and Blayne Kindle all had a hit for Hardin Northern.
