Magazine recognizes Blanchard Valley

FINDLAY — Blanchard Valley Hospital has been recognized by U.S News and World Report as a high performing hospital for knee replacements. Blanchard Valley Hospital also holds high performing ratings in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), colon cancer surgery, heart failure and hip replacement.

Health board approves use of Porta-Johns at business

A Taylor Creek start-up brewery has received approval from the Kenton Hardin Health Board to use a Porta-John at its site until it can get a septic system installed. During its regular meeting on Tuesday, the board unanimously approved a motion allowing the Paradune Brewery to use a Porta-John system until Sept. 28, 2018, which is the deadline to have a septic system in place according to their permit to install received from the Ohio EPA.

Mayors to host Cross

The Hardin County mayor’s organization will welcome Jon Cross as its meeting on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Vets Hall in the courthouse. Cross is a Republican primary candidate for the Ohio House 83rd Representative in the primary election this spring.

Kenton board to meet

The Kenton City Schools Board of Education will be having a special board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 25 at the Board of Education Office, located at 222 W. Carrol St. in Kenton. The meeting is being held for the purpose of hiring personnel.
