A Forest man has been placed on community control for five years after he pleaded guilty to a drug charge in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's office, Keith Lee Sorrell Jr., 5399 Ohio 53, Forest, pleaded guilty to one charge of trafficking in drugs in the vicinity of a school or in the vicinity of a juvenile.

Natisha E. Jackson, 440 S. Walnut St., Dunkirk – speeding 45 mph in a 35 mph zone, fined $15. Crystal L. Boyle, 442 W. Kohler St., Kenton – speeding 47 mph in a 35 mph zone, fined $25. Daniel Riley Mason, 360 S. Main St., Mount Victory – speeding 64 mph in a 55 mph zone, one prior offense, fined $45.

Fined $150 for speeding 30 mph in a 20 mph school zone were: Natasha Freytag, 207 Belmont St. Lot 32, Alger; and James Lee Kidd, Wapakoneta.

A Kenton man was sentenced to 139 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic violence in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's office, Charles Ray Daisy, 222 Sycamore St., Kenton, also was fined $150 by Judge Scott Barrett.

After a two-week investigation into multiple thefts of commercial and industrial batteries from locations throughout Hardin County, an arrest has been made by the Investigations Division of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. Thomas Risner, 30, of 106 E. Columbus Street, Kenton, was arrested and booked into the Multi-County Correctional Center in Marion.

Fined $25 for speeding 40 mph in a 25 mph zone were: Annah R. Brown, 529 N. Wayne St., Kenton; and Shannon R. Miller, 311 N. Patterson St., Forest. Jeffrey W. Elliott, 13424 TR 115, Kenton – speeding 50 mph in a 35 mph zone, one prior offense, fined $65.

Hardin County Recorder Brenda Rainsburg released the following property transfers for August: Lee A. Fensler and wife to Carl Poe and wife – .692 acres in part of Section 28, Liberty Twp. Tax $994. Carl E. Poe and wife to Andrew D. Perkins and wife – 1.94 acres in part of Section 18, Liberty Twp. Tax $899.60.

A Dunkirk man was sent to prison for 57 months and was named a sexual offender after he was found to have nude pictures of minor girls on his cell phone. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's office, Adam Wade Bowermaster, 360 W. Washington St., Dunkirk, was found guilty of illegal use of a minor in a nudity-oriented material or performance.
