DOLA — The Hardin Northern community gathered in the varsity gym on Wednesday, May 20, to recognize students for their academic achievements. Principal Joe Hoelzle welcomed all in attendance and thanked them for supporting the students in their most important endeavor, academics.

ADA — Ohio Northern University student Khadijah Bagais, a senior international business and economics major from Ada, was awarded first place in the “Column or Commentary” category in the Society for Collegiate Journalists 2014 contest.

In the 100 years since the Hardin County Courthouse opened, many memorable cases have taken place in the courtroom. Justice has been handled down on rapists, murderers and one St. Bernard dog.

ADA — ReStore Community Center in Ada and community members are sponsoring a backpack drive to help children and families receive school supplies and backpacks for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year.

MOUNT VICTORY — The Mount Victory Community Improvement Association will be hosting its 31th annual Memorial Day Antique Car Show and Petroliana Swap Meet on Monday. This non-profit community celebration includes many activities including a non-judged car show and a large display of gas, oil and automotive memorabilia for show and sale.

The Hardin County Historical Museum is announcing a pre-sale of the new 2015 Hardin County History Book. The book will be ready for delivery beginning on or about June 1.

The Hardin County Business and Professional Women’s Club is reminding area students that the deadline is approaching to submit applications for its annual scholarship. The scholarship is open to students from Hardin County who have completed at least two of four years of college at an accredited school, or one year of a two-year business or technical school program.

The Kroger Crusaders Relay for Life team will have two events on Saturday.

The Kenton High School Vocal Music Department will present its 2015 Cabaret on Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31 in the gymnasium.
