Vanessa Richards and Brian McCune are announcing their engagement and upcoming marriage. Vanessa is the daughter of Jeff and Gloria Richards of Kenton.

May Students of the Month at Hardin Northern Elementary School are (not in order) Lyla Holtzberger, Nolon Flowers, Gabe Epling, Luke Price, Kameron Frank, Karley Wagner, Kailey Wagner, Justin Reffitt, Chloe Fall, Payton Gossard, Jadi Herrod-Gonzalez, Trenton Castle, Makailey Cook and Mason Roby.

The spring Kenton High School Student Council has been busy holding various events such as its annual blood drive and penny stall. Student council partnered with the American Red Cross and held a blood drive on April 1, collecting 64 units of blood from 73 students.

The May 11 gathering of the Minerva Club was held at Henry’s Restaurant and was a dinner meeting. Twenty-six members and a guest were present.

Greenwood Grange met Thursday, May 14 at the grange hall. Robert Wood, Master led the business meeting and Secretary Janet Bloom read the minutes.

DOLA — Hardin Northern High School will hold its 2015 commencement on Sunday, May 24 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. Four of the 29 graduating seniors have been selected as Honor Court graduates. Each of these students has maintained a grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0 on a 4.0 scale and will receive an Honor Court medallion at the commencement.

The Kenton-OHP FFA Chapter made a big statement this year in the National FFA. We were given a gold rating. This means that out of all of the chapters in the state, we were ranked in the top 10 percent. This is only our chapter’s second time filling out the application.
