DOLA — Until this year, Dola has never been considered a destination for families to view Christmas lighting decorations. But the unique display of animated designs and patterns flashing and rolling on the yard of Kevin and Kelly Eikenbary on Ohio 81 in the village is quickly changing that.

McGUFFEY — When the Upper Scioto Valley Fellowship of Christian Athletes needed to come up with an idea to raise money, it found a solution in one of the unlikeliest of places. Al Robertson from the TV series “Duck Dynasty” has agreed to speak at the school out of friendship between his family and the family of USV teacher/football coach Josh Spencer.

As Jamie Davis prepared for a meeting at the Hardin County Coonhunters Club Monday afternoon, he was a little apprehensive. This was to be the second special meeting called by the organization to discuss the future of the club east of Hepburn, formed in 1953 to educate and preserve hunting sports.

The village of Forest celebrated a Charlie Brown Christmas Sunday with a large crowd taking part in shopping and holiday activities.

MOUNT VICTORY — The Ridgemont community paused to embrace its past as it celebrated its future during dedication services Sunday at the new preK-12 facility in Mount Victory. The $21 million building was made possible when the local voters agreed to pay their share of the cost of construction as the state contributed 76 percent of the bill.

Arin Tracy has always wanted to work in the public safety sector, and as the Kenton Hardin Health Department’s emergency preparedness coordinator, she’s doing just that. Tracy has been with the health department since September of 2012.

When the Harco Industries Board replaces the retiring Kim Thomas at the end of the year, it will not hire another director of adult services. The new leader will be the CEO of Harco Industries, Inc.

The Kenton High School Vocal Music Department will present “High School Musical” next weekend at the Kenton Middle School auditorium. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.
