While it only made up three of Carol McKinley’s 42 years in education, teaching Reading Recovery to first graders was one of the most satisfying times helping children in her career.

Sometimes Ryan Collins’ job is like trying to hit a moving target. The technology he teaches his students at Kenton High School’s Ohio Hi-Point Career Center’s satellite school in the former Northwood Elementary building changes so quickly, within a few short years the job they are learning to do may be obsolete.

DUNKIRK — Ohio Northern University’s HealthWise mobile clinic is helping to provide healthcare access to citizens across Hardin County. Thanks to a three-year federal government grant from HRSA (Health Resources and Services Administration), HealthWise is able to serve Hardin County – a designated medically “under-served” area.

Kenton Police Chief Dennis Musser suffered minor injuries when a high speed pursuit involving a Lima man and the Ohio State Highway Patrol ended in a collision with his patrol car Tuesday afternoon on Ohio 309 about three miles west of the city.
