DOLA — Two teachers will be retiring from the Hardin Northern School District this year, but both plan to return in some capacity to the school next year. Jeanette Karcher expects to see the Polar Bear students as a substitute teacher. Michael Dennis is returning to teach full-time.

After a year’s absence, the Buggy Ride bicycle tour is returning to Hardin County on Saturday, June 13. The Hardin County Family YMCA and the Healthy Lifestyles Coalition have taken over sponsorship of the tour.

MARSEILLES — Two longtime members of the Marseilles Volunteer Fire Department were honored in a surprise ceremony during the department’s annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser and open house earlier this month. Fire Lt. Brian Bryant and Capt. Scotty Williams each spent more than a decade volunteering for the department.
