When I was attending seminary in Columbus, I got a ticket for speeding. I hadn't been paying attention to my speed while dialing the car radio – an early example of what we now call "distracted driving".

The public is invited to watch “The Grace Card” today at 7 p.m. during Movie Night at Kenton Full Gospel Church. The church is located at 129 N. Wayne St., Kenton. Free popcorn and soft drinks will be provided after the movie.

Auglaize Free United Baptist Church at Maysville will offer an all-you-can eat country style breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 9. The donation is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 7 to 13, and children younger than 6 eat free.

The Hardin County Ministerial Association will be sponsoring its annual ecumenical Palm Sunday worship service at St. John's Evangelical Church at 6:30 on Sunday, March 20.

The Lima Chapter of Aglow International will be holding its monthly meetings on Thursday, March 10. A morning session will run from 9:30 a.m. to noon at WTLW TV 44, 1844 Baty Road, Lima.

Twenty-six members of the Ambassador Class of Faith Baptist Church met Monday at 6 p.m. at the church in the fellowship room. Following the invocation, the group enjoyed pizza and a carry-in meal provided by the attendees.

You know, it's funny how I look at all the books on my shelf that I read in college, others I read while in the seminary, and the ones that I have read since I graduated from the seminary in 1984, and struggle to remember something that I got out of them.

BELLE CENTER — A soup and sandwiches fundraiser is set for Saturday, Feb. 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until supplies run out at the Belle Center United Methodist Church, 202 E. Main St., Belle Center. Serving will be out of the church basement so people should enter through the back.
