Carrie L Haudenschield, Hardin County Clerk of Courts, has released an account of transactions from her offices for 2017. Legal Department: A total of 2,306 new cases were filed: 172 civil includes 81 foreclosures, 131 domestics, 180 criminal includes bind overs from Hardin County Municipal Court and search warrants, 1,398 judgment liens, 23 court of appeals, 402 miscellaneous cases includes 98 notary certificates.

ADA —The Ohio 3rd District Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments in two cases at Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law at 10 a.m. on Jan. 9 in the Large Moot Court Room. The oral arguments will be held before a three-judge panel consisting of Judges Stephen R. Shaw, Vernon L. Preston, John R. Willamowski or William R. Zimmerman. Shaw, Willamowski and Zimmerman are Ohio Northern University law alumni.

Judge Scott Barrett has determined there is no conflict of interest in attorney representation in a case involving charges a Roundhead man attempted to have his wife killed. Gerrick “Tony” Anthony Sheldon, 3010 CR 130, Roundhead Township, is facing two charges of complicity in an attempt to commit aggravated murder, a felony of the first degree (F1).

An Upper Sandusky woman was placed on community control for five years after being found guilty of drug charges in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.

In what he called “the most heinous” case to come before him, Hardin County Common Pleas Court Judge Scott Barrett sent an Ada man to prison for the rest of his life on Wednesday. Albert Mast Sr. was originally charged with 123 counts in July of sexually abusing his children.
