FOREST — While Hardin County residents went to the polls to decide their local leaders, the park board members in Forest were tallying the results of a month-long vote. Residents were asked to consider six options for the future of the town’s municipal swimming pool.

Most incumbents were returned to their school board seats in Tuesday’s election. The lone exception was in Ada, where member Jennifer Hiester placed fourth in the race for three seats.

Each of the county’s townships elected a fiscal officer and a trustee in Tuesday’s elections. The results on the contested races follow: Blanchard fiscal officer - Bethany Driskill, 213; Elwanda Hastings, 117 and Christine Lawrence, 108.

Municipal, township and school board elections, along with local and state issues headline the ballot in Tuesday’s election. Polling hours will run from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Precincts and locations have been set for Tuesday’s general election. The only change is that voters in the Mount Victory, Ridgeway and Hale Township precinct now vote at the Mount Victory Community Building.

The Hardin County Agricultural Society will hold its annual election for directors on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the fair office at the Hardin County Fairgrounds. Members of the Agricultural Society who reside in the townships open for election may vote on the director representing their township.

Kenton Mayor Randy Manns is seeking another four years in office in Tuesday’s general election. Although his name is the only one listed for the race on the ballot, he has two write-in challengers. Both John Alexander and Joe Hord are hoping voters will write-in their names on the ballot for the mayor’s race in hopes of unseating the incumbent.

ALGER — Three candidates are competing for two council seats in Alger in Tuesday’s election. Ethan Hunt is the town’s fire chief and was appointed to fill a vacancy on council in August after council member Jennifer Dye resigned. Juanita Downing has served twice on the town’s board of public affairs...

Four candidates will compete for three open seats on the Ridgemont Board of Education in Tuesday’s general election. Newcomer Patrick Stacklin is going against incumbents Cheryl France, Eric Hill and Jerry Turner. France and Turner did not respond to an election questionnaire from the Times.

The Hardin County Board of Elections has announced the last days of in-person absentee/early voting hours for the 2015 general election.
