Man convicted of lesser crime in death of dog while hunting A Cridersville man was acquitted of most of the charges against him related to a hunting incident by a jury in a recent Hardin County Common Pleas Court case. According to court documents from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's office, David M Deitering was hunting on Nov. 5, 2018 in a wooded area owned by the Shaw family. David Hunsicker owns land abutting the property where Deitering was hunting. Read More

USV hopeful state budget will include solar PILOTs in budget McGUFFEY — When the Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILOT) legislation was renewed, solar energy was omitted from the formula. That omission would be a financial hit to the Upper Scioto Valley School district as some of the most valuable farmland in the district would avoid local taxes and Hardin County would receive the fiscal benefit. Veterans Services gives June report The Hardin County Veterans Service Commission submitted the following report for the month of June. There were 13 vouchers approved totaling $1,507.66. Food requests made up four of the vouchers with a total of $400. Utilities and other expenses were paid for the balance of nine vouchers at a cost of $1,107.66. Read More
