ADA — The 40th annual Ada Music Feast Show Choir Invitational Competition is set for Saturday, Nov. 4 at Ada High School. This year’s program will feature talented young men and women from eight visiting show choirs from Ohio, and Indiana.

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University will host a fall choral concert featuring the University Chorale and Camerata Singers at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22 in Yoder Recital Hall. Feast your ears on the sounds of Palestrina, Handel, Debussy and Duruflé as Natalie Mallis, visiting assistant professor of music, will conduct the concert in collaboration with university accompanists Ana Yoder Coulter and Benjamin Crook.

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University will present “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller this fall. Dr. Melissa Friesen, a professor and chair of art, communication and theatre at Bluffton, will direct the show, being staged at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 2-4 and 2:30 p.m., Nov. 5 in Ramseyer Auditorium in College Hall.

Voters from throughout Hardin County will vote on the future of the county’s 9-1-1 system this fall. The funding for the system is up for a renewal for another five years on the Nov. 7 ballot.

A Kenton woman was returned to prison for another eight months after she pleaded guilty to a charge of escape in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey’s office, Rachael J. McGrath had been released from prison on Aug. 8, 2016 and placed on supervision with the Adult Parole Authority for one year.

FINDLAY — Former Ohio Sen. Cliff Hite has publicly apologized for inappropriate actions and comments to a female statehouse employee. Those comments, Hite said in a statement released Wednesday, were part of the reason for his sudden announcement Monday that he was resigning from the Senate.

The Hardin County Veterans Service Commission will be hosting its third annual Veterans Day Dinner for county veterans and their spouses. It will be held at the Kenton Armory on Nov. 7 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
