Safety important during harvest rush

During the past week soybean harvest has kicked into high gear. The extended dry period has allowed farmers an uncommon opportunity to harvest non-stop. In some fields they are having trouble staying ahead of the drying beans – grain moisture dropping as low as 10 percent, increasing the chance of shattering before harvest.

Story of abuse shared at annual Crossroads’ vigil

Sharing her story

After suffering abuse as a child, then as a young wife, a Hardin County woman now wants to minister to other women and children who have been abused. Charlotte Gooden shared her story of abuse and her strength to break free of it as guest speaker at the 2017 Candlelight Vigil to remember victims of domestic violence, hosted by Crossroads Crisis Center at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Kenton.

Lima Symphony to present opening concert

LIMA — The Lima Symphony Orchestra will open its season with “Ethereal Connections” on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center. Gustav Holst’s compelling and iconic piece The Planets will be accompanied by stunning visual images of our Solar System courtesy of NASA and artfully designed by Adrian Wyard.

Kite Runner at Palace
