BBQ dinner to aid Ada youth

ADA — Grace Gospel Church of Ada is sponsoring a chicken BBQ dinner to benefit an Ada girl who is battling cancer. The drive-thru pickup dinner will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 28 at the church, 321 N. Gilbert St.

Reed canary grass is aggressive

Reed canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea) is a non-native wetland grass that arrived from Asia and Europe in the 1800s for hay, forage, and erosion control. Both strains of native and non-native reed canary grass have been planted in the U.S. with the non-native grass being more aggressive.

Townships set joint meeting

There will be a joint meeting of Buck and Pleasant Townships on Monday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Kenton Municipal Building. The purpose of the meeting is to auction a fire truck and conduct any other business that is fire related.

Heather Marie Baker, 980 Meadow Lane Apt. 30, was the driver of a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation. The passenger of the vehicle, Floyd Shawn Stevens, 19591 CR 115, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Logan County.
