A Kenton man was injured from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the main parking lot of Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton on Monday afternoon.

McGUFFEY — The Upper Scioto Valley Board of Education was excited to introduce its new district leader to the staff and the public at its regular meeting Monday evening.

Health care services for Kenton City Schools’ students, staff/faculty and their families are expected to be available at the district’s schools beginning in August.

Kenton City Schools will be closed the week of the Hardin County Fair. School board members, at their regular monthly meeting Monday night, approved a 2016-2017 school calendar no classes the week of Sept. 5-9 for the fair.

ALGER — The acceptance of a contract for the town solicitor in Alger came down to a split vote decided by the mayor Monday night. On the third of three readings, the contract between the village and Solicitor Aaron Bensinger was to be reduced from a three-year agreement to two in order to comply with state regulations.
