Ben Logan pair receive AP Scholar Awards

BELLEFONTAINE — Two Benjamin Logan students have been recognized for demonstrating outstanding college-level achievement through Advanced Placement courses and exams during the 2014-2015 school year. Katharine Adams, a 2015 graduate of Benjamin Logan, qualified for the College Board’s Advanced Placement Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with grades of 3 or higher.

Soil and Water meeting early

The August board meeting of the Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20 at the Hardin County Fairgrounds in Kenton. Future meetings will resume on the regular schedule of the third Thursday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the district office.

Ridgeway council hears of Alliance’s plans for job fair

RIDGEWAY — The Ridgeway council was given an update on the latest economic development programs in Hardin County at its meeting Tuesday. Jon Cross, President and CEO of the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance, told council the county’s unemployment rate is between four and five percent and there are indications the existing companies are planning to expand.
