Ada woman sent to prison for nine years in arson case An Ada woman was sentenced to nine years in prison after she pleaded guilty in Hardin County Common Pleas Court to charges stemming from a drug-related fire at her home in May. Julie Ann Music pleaded guilty to illegal manufacturing of drugs in the vicinity of a juvenile, two counts of complicity to aggravated arson and two counts of endangering children. Read More

Excessive early rain led to inconsistent corn crop yields With the help of fifteen volunteer rainfall reporters, the Hardin County Extension office has collected unofficial township rainfall data for the past 23 consecutive years. The 2015 growing season started with a relatively warm and dry planting period. Although most corn was planted early to mid May, excessive rainfall starting later in the month greatly reduced yields. Police Reports: November 12, 2015 An alleged sexual offense was reported to the department by Hardin County Children’s Services. Mariah L. Gallagher, Circleville, reported that sometime overnight, someone got into her vehicle and removed her wallet from the glove box. The wallet contained a bank card and several items of identification. Animated author/illustrator shares love of his craft with Kenton Elementary students No one who watched Henry Cole with the Kenton Elementary students Wednesday could accuse him of being boring. The author/illustrator of more than 120 children’s books pranced and joked with the young people who snickered and roared back in response.
