A public hearing to discuss the re-employment of Kevin Kapanka as a Kenton High School science teacher will be held at the Kenton Board of Education meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, July 27 at the administrative offices, 222 W. Carrol St. The board will take action on Kapanka’s employment at a special meeting in August at the administrative offices.

Disaster responders from the American Red Cross of Hardin County are helping three Forest residents following a fire Sunday at their residence. The residents, two adults and one child received a place to stay as well as food, clothing and comfort kits with personal hygiene items.

Improvements to Kenton’s Waterworks Park top the list of projects for a proposed $300,000 Neighborhood Revitalization Grant. The grant application was approved Thursday by the Hardin County Commissioners.

Hardin County has become the 87th county in Ohio to join the National Flood Insurance Program. The county commissioners said Thursday they were notified this week of the county’s acceptance into the program.

Several Hardin County road projects will continue next week, according to an update from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s District 1 office in Lima. Ohio 701 between U.S. 68 and Township Road 105 will be closed for 17 days beginning July 6 for three culvert replacements.
