Divided Alger council renews effort to hire a village administrator ALGER — The Alger council started fresh with its plans to create a village administrator’s position and disband the board of public affairs at its meeting Monday night. Couple seeks to annex property into village of Alger ALGER — A couple finishing a pre-fabricated home just outside the limits of Alger turned to the town council for help in annexing the property into the village and tying into the sewer system. Complete with a series of new gravel roads to transport the beehive of activity in the crowded parking lot of the trailer community, construction workers, electricians and engineers are hard at work preparing for the arrival of parts which will become the 30 turbines of the Hog Creek Wind Farm. Missing 1903 rifle triggers call for improved security at Veterans Hall A missing gun from a display at the Hardin County Courthouse has called attention to the need to increase security at Veterans Hall. In a letter sent to the commissioners Thursday shortly before he met face-to-face with them, Veterans Service Officer Steve Gossard reported he had been contacted by the Department of the Army regarding some rifles loaned out to be used for ceremonial purposes to the county.
