KHS soccer outscores River Valley, 6-1 Despite holding a 2-0 lead over visiting River Valley at halftime, head coach Jamie Bartlett felt his Kenton boys soccer team looked sluggish in the first half. Trophy Bassmasters meet with tough conditions on Indian Lake After a couple of productive trips to Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie, the Trophy Bassmasters headed back to their home waters of Indian Lake for a mid summer contest. The 13 anglers found what is expected on an inland lake in Ohio in the heat of the summer, tough conditions, as only 33 keeper bass of at least 12 inches were brought in following the eight-hour day. Girl Scouts win state fair awards Several Hardin County Girl Scouts came away from the 2019 Ohio State Fair with many awards. Jordyn Smith from Ada captured the Gold Medal in the Girl Scout Speech contest. Her speech titled "Letter to my younger self" was judged outstanding in the Junior category. She earned a Silver medal in the design competition.. They were given a box of items and they had to make a camping scene in 45 minutes. She earned a Bronze medal in the duct tape competition by making a dress, with photos of her modeling it. She also earned a 1st place ribbon in robotics, a 2nd place ribbon for a community service project and a 3rd place ribbon for a game displaying trivia from the Girl Scout Birthplace in Savannah, Ga.
