Hardin Northern graduate Juli Fulks has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year after guiding the Transylvania women’s basketball team to its first conference championship in four years this past season.

The Kenton High School Top Twenty show choir was named grand champion of the Small Mixed High School division against four other schools in the Grove Competition in Grove City on Saturday, Feb. 23. The group's score was high enough to qualify it for the evening finals portion of the competition for the second time this season, where they competed against all large school groups, including Olentangy Orange, Colerain (Cincinnati), and the Heid School of the Performing Arts (Akron).

The seniors at the Hardin County Council on Aging Senior Center had a pie day. Several of the seniors brought in pies to share with the group.

Aaron McPherson is an avid traveler and outdoorsman, traveling across the United States to hunt, fish, hike, camp and sightsee. Through his affiliation with the Hardin County Recovery Court in role as chief probation officer with the Court of Common Pleas, Aaron incorporates those interests into “sober activities.”

Carl Kissling helps Pam Thames sort out the 1,857 boxes of Girl Scout cookies at the Forest distribution center on Tuesday. The cookies were to be picked up by representatives of the area's 15 scout troops and will be distributed to buyers and be available for sales that will begin this weekend through March 25.

The Benjamin Logan Quiz Bowl team recently captured the Central Buckeye Conference title by going 7-0 in league competition at Tecumseh High School. The students that competed were (from left) sophomore Jacob McKenrick, freshman Averi Lane, senior Mei Carmer, sophomores Lexi Achor, Ben Coffield and senior Bryson Tipton, Benjamin Logan has now won CBC honors for three consecutive seasons.

LIMA — For the better part of three quarters against Allen East on Tuesday night, the Ridgemont Gophers looked like a basketball team loaded with a roster of juniors and seniors instead of one built around a core that consists mostly of freshman and sophomores.
