CLYDE — Junior Noah Eikenbary had claimed his second straight sectional title, taking first place in the 220-pound weight class to lead the Kenton High School wrestling team at the Division II sectional final at Clyde High School.

McGUFFEY — Ten years ago, two school districts in Hardin County saw wind power as the source of energy for their futures. Today, the reality of Ada and Upper Scioto Valley's contracts with NexGen have caused both schools to regret getting involved with the green energy company.

It was a long time coming, but the Kenton boys basketball team finally had fun on a Friday night this season. The host Wildcats took control in the second quarter and never relinquished the momentum as they dispatched their namesakes from Bath, 72-52. Kenton finishes the regular season at 14-7 overall and 2-7 in WBL play. Bath ends up 1-21 and 0-9.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — With just four seconds left and down one point to Hopewell-Loudon on senior night, the Riverdale Falcons were set to inbound the ball behind the Chieftains’ basket. Alec Loveridge inbounded the ball to Brock Davis who tossed it right back to Loveridge as he curved around the 3-point line and drove to the hoop, but his mid-range shot failed to find the bottom of the net as time expired, as the Falcons fell to Hopewell-Loudon 48-47 on Friday.

The Ada Kiwanis met on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at noon in the Dean’s Heritage Room, McIntosh Center, Ohio Northern University. President Joe Ferguson was in charge of the meeting. Karen Kier, Joanne Berg and Linda Ferguson were welcomed as guests.

FOREST — Forest merchants and community leaders are being encouraged to take part in a program designed to attract customers to the village's downtown. Frances Jo Hamilton, Director of Revitalization for Heritage Ohio, discussed her organization at the Forest Community Improvement Committee's meeting on Thursday.

Members of the Riverdale High School Quiz Bowl team won the annual Hardin County meet at their school on Thursday evening. The students competed against teams from Ridgemont, Hardin Northern, Kenton, Upper Scioto Valley and Ada.

There were students from six area schools competing in the annual Hardin County Quiz Bowl meet on Thursday at Riverdale High School. The schools competed against each other one-on-one and the team with the most correct answers in the games was crowned the winner.

With possession of the ball and just seven seconds left in the game, Kenton inbounded the ball on their offensive end of the court looking to get a game-tying 3-pointer against Upper Scioto Valley on Thursday night. The ball got to the hands of Jayden Cornell, and with time ticking down, he let the long-range shot go, but it didn’t find the bottom of the net, instead ending up in the hands of USV’s Wayne Lowery to seal the game with less than a second left.
