Ada High School sophomore Megan Light serves Charles Luellen at the school’s annual Senior Citizens’ Luncheon on Wednesday. Seniors were treated to a meal of meatloaf, corn casserole and sweet potatoes, as well as entertainment by the students.

District Governor Maris Brenner was a recent visitor to the Kenton Rotary and she is pictured with Russell Blue, club president. She shared an enlightening program with members on her journey from new member to club presidency at the Sandusky club and onto District Governor of Rotary District 6600.

Pioneers, innovators and those with long records of involvement in agriculture are the newest inductees into the Hardin County Agriculture Hall of Fame. Sanford and Paul McCurdy, Jan Layman, Gary and Carol Oates, and Gary Shick were celebrated for their contributions to agriculture in Hardin County during the annual banquet on Tuesday night in Kenton.

ADA — Ugly and not pretty. Those were the words Hardin Northern girls basketball coach Brady Mast used to describe his team’s 34-22 victory over Ada on Tuesday night. The Polar Bear mentor will take wins any way they come though after losing his top scorer, Ashton Dye, for the season for a second year in a row due to an injury suffered in the preseason.

BELLEFONTAINE — Since she started swimming at age seven, Macy Arn has had a dream of swimming at the Division I collegiate level. That dream will become a reality next winter for the Ben Logan senior.

Kenton and Van Wert split a swim dual meet at the Hardin County YMCA on Tuesday night, with the Wildcats winning the boys meet 83-62 and Van Wert winning the girls meet 92-57.

A Cub Scout from Kenton Pack 121 was presented with a prestigious award on Sunday, Dec. 2 during the pack meeting held at St. John’s Evangelical Church. Isaiah Poland, age 9 of Kenton, earned the Dr. Charles Townes Supernova Award for his achievement of excellence in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

The Boots and Buckles 4-H club recently collected non-perishable food items for the Hardin County S.O.U.P. Service. The S.O.U.P. service is held the last full week of each month, January through November.

Members of the Ada United Methodist Church presented a live nativity scene as part of the Merry on Main holiday celebration on Monday night. The manger scene was accompanied by carolers who added to the holiday spirit by singing Christmas songs.
