MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Ridgedale Rockets proved too much for the Riverdale to handle Saturday morning on the volleyball court, sweeping the Falcons 25-16, 28-26, 25-11. The loss continues an unfortunate trend for the Falcons, according to head coach Amanda Ribley, who said the team has been on a “downhill spiral” since the middle of the season.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Hanna Briendenbach’s goal in the first half proved to be the winner for Riverdale against Miller City on Saturday, with Katelyn Hildebrand tallying a pair in the second half to give the Lady Falcons the 3-0 victory.

When Cara Brown was growing up, her family moved often and she found herself saying goodbye to her friends and starting relationships over at a new school. "It was horrible," she recalled. "I was shy and introverted. It was hard to make friends. I hated it."

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Wildcat Career Closet is set for 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 in Kenton High School’s Media Center. The intersection of Township Road 35 and County Road 60, southwest of Ada, was the scene of a two-vehicle injury accident this morning. According to Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart, the driver of the tan Ford was southbound on TR 35 and either ran a stop sign or pulled out in front of the white minivan, driving on CR 60.

ARLINGTON — Led by Brady Hipsher’s 75, the Upper Scioto Valley golf team finished second at the Division III golf sectional at Sycamore Springs Golf Course on Thursday. The Rams, who had a team score of 337, finished behind Van Buren, which ended up with a score of 318.
