Ashley Fox and Benjamin Hammer were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at First Lutheran Church, Findlay by Rev. Robert Cochran. The bride is the daughter of David and Tina Fox of Forest. The groom is the son of James and Linda Hammer of Wayne.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Haley Frey had two goals to lead the way as the Riverdale girls soccer team defeated Ada 6-0 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match on Wednesday night. The Falcons, who led 2-0 at halftime, also received goals from Danielle Searfoss, Hanna Briedenbach, Katelyn Hildebrand and Paige Rothlisberger.

The seniors at the Hardin County Council on Aging Senior Center had a dessert party in celebration of the arrival of autumn.

The Kenton Rotary Club welcomed guests Chuck Moore and Marshall Wolowicz at recent meetings. Moore, an instructor and coach at Kenton High School, spoke to the club about a new program at KHS called the Success Initiative.

Thanks to a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Lima Symphony Orchestra performed at a Kenton day care center on Tuesday morning. The musicians entertained youngsters at Children’s Laugh ‘N Learn.

MOUNT VICTORY — The second annual Pumpkin Fest in Mount Victory is planned for Saturday, October 6, at Henry Martin Park at the corner of Main and Taylor streets. The event features a pumpkin house and pumpkin painting for kids from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m with judging and prizes given to the best decorated entries.

LIMA — Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Kenton’s hopes of claiming the school’s first Western Buckeye League soccer title looked to be in jeopardy. Forty minutes and two goals later, the Wildcats are right back where they want to be - in control of their own destiny – as a 2-1 win over the Indians left Kenton as the only team in the WBL without a loss.

A Fostoria family with ties to Hardin County was recently honored with the designation of “Falcon Family of the Year” at Bowling Green State University. Nick Elsass, a 2017 graduate of Hopewell Loudon High School in Bascom, always knew he wanted to thank his parents somehow for all of the sacrifices they’ve made in order for him to attend Bowling Green State University debt free.
