ST. MARYS — The Kenton football team has won a lot of games over the years by stretching the field with its spread offense. On Friday night, it was St. Marys that spread the field with success on Kenton’s defense.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — After outscoring Vanlue 35-0 in the first half, the Riverdale Falcons, playing a heritage game as the Wharton Dragons on homecoming night, cruised to a 49-7 victory Friday night. The Falcons climb to 3-2 overall, 2-2 in the Blanchard Valley Conference. Vanlue drops to 0-5, 0-3.

DOLA — Trailing Riverside 33-28 and with their home crowd cheering them on, the Hardin Northern Polar Bears faced a 3rd and goal at the 6-yard line with under 20 seconds left on the clock. With a receiver in motion, quarterback Owen Wetherill faked the jet sweep and looked to pass.

RIDGEWAY — The Upper Scioto Valley Rams struck early and often against Ridgemont in Friday night’s contest with Quinn Sanders leading the way, scoring a combined six touchdowns for his team to help take down the Gophers 44-6.

Charlie, Bob, Kim, Tom and Brad Winfield, listed as Wingfield 5 and part owners of Dorsoduro Hanover hold the division trophy after the three-year-old finished second in the final race of the Little Brown Jug harness race on Thursday.

Joan Wagner and the Plaza Inn, Mt. Victory, will be hosting the second “All Out” for the United Way of Hardin County on Monday, Sept. 24. The restaurant will donate a portion of its receipts for the day to this year’s campaign to benefit 21 non-profit agencies in Hardin County.

The Boots and Buckles 4-H club recently presented the Hardin County Dog Shelter with a donation of $845 from the sale of bags. The members collected feed bags and Carol Verity, the grandmother of member Abby McElfresh made the bags.

The Hardin County Carcass Show of Champions was held Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Mt. Victory Meats. A group of adults and young people were on hand to hear judge and OSU Meat Judging Team member Jake Parkinson discuss the merits of the winning animal carcasses from the 2018 Hardin County Fair.

The Hardin Northern class of 1968 held its 50th class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the home of Ron and Gay Preston in Powell. There were 19 classmates and two teachers attending the event.

Having always been in customer service, Alexia Brown felt the role of office manager at the Kenton Times was the perfect fit for her. Alexia is taking over the front desk position left by Dina VanBuskirk, and she will be carrying out such responsibilities as entering classified ads, billing and taking payments.
