Johnson captures third in DII state discus competition COLUMBUS — Kenton senior Lauren Johnson and her mom made a deal going into Friday’s Division II state discus competition that a third place finish would earn her a $50 state meet sweatshirt. YMCA gets grant to enhance its Monarch butterfly garden The public is invited to come enjoy the Monarch butterfly garden at the Hardin County YMCA in Kenton and watch the lifecycle of the Monarch now through September. It is located behind the Y in Kenton. In March the YMCA received a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to enhance its Monarch butterfly garden and educate children and adults about the Monarch, according to Paulette McCulley, finance manager at the Y.
