Many activities for children at Y’s Wacky Wednesday camp The Hardin County Family YMCA was the scene every Wednesday for Wacky Wednesday Day Camp from June 21 through Aug. 9. The themes revolved around All Ball games, Emergency Services, Moovin’ and Groovin’ Dance Day, Fun and Fitness Tumbling Day, Artful Antics all creative art, Hawaiian Hullabaloo, Music Makers with special guests who came and demonstrated their instruments, and fairy tales which were dramatized by the campers. Hog Creek Wind Farm plans to be operating by December DOLA — Among the corn and bean fields of Washington Township in northern Hardin County, a small city has sprung up this summer. Complete with a series of new gravel roads to transport the beehive of activity in the crowded parking lot of the trailer community, construction workers, electricians and engineers are hard at work preparing for the arrival of parts which will become the 30 turbines of the Hog Creek Wind Farm. National grant sends kids to camp Late this spring, Kenton Elks Lodge 157 received a Gratitude Grant in the amount of $2,000 from the Elks National Foundation. The grant was used to provide financial support to Hardin County youth attending 4-H camp this summer at Camp Ohio. Read More
