Haley Nicole Conley and Kaleb Hunter Howard were united in marriage at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Hardin County Fairgrounds Community Building in Kenton by Mary Curtis. The bride is the daughter of Matthew and Stephanie Conley of Fostoria.

After working outside of Kenton for eight years – five of them on the road – Jesse Purcell was ready to return to the place she had called home and spend more time with her family. In January, Purcell took over as the chamber and tourism director at the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance.

Selected as the Kenton Elks Lodge Teenagers of the Year for 2017 were (from left) Hardin Northern’s Cassandra Miller and Garrett Eikenbary, while Sydney Holderman of Riverdale was named the Volunteer of the Year.

Each of the six Hardin County schools selected their top boy and girl seniors for the Kenton Elks Lodge Teenagers of the Year competition. They were honored at a banquet at the lodge on Sunday evening.

Kenji Kobayashi finished second at No. 2 singles and all the Kenton tennis players that competed on Saturday finished higher than their seed entering the Western Buckeye League tournament as the Wildcats finished fourth in the tourney and tied with Elida for sixth place overall in the league standings.

Boost Mobile, located at 19 N. Detroit St. in Kenton, held its official grand opening Friday morning. Cutting the ribbon is owner Nasser Amawi.

The first ever Arbor Day in Ada community celebration was a bit soggy, but that didn’t keep kids and adults alike from visiting the Ada Depot on Saturday, April 29. The Ada Tree Commission hosted the morning’s events, which included a display by the Hardin County Master Gardeners, a bee keeping exhibit, and tree seedlings for $1.

Three Kenton kids share a common bond at a young age. They enjoy acting.

A group begins the first leg of the Upper Scioto Valley Relay for Life on Friday, which for the first time had to be moved indoors because of the rainy weather. In the previous eight years of the USV Relay for Life, the event has enjoyed sunny skies.
