UPPER SANDUSKY — The Kenton girls were fifth of eight teams, while the Wildcat boys were seventh at the Swankhouse Memorial Invitational at Upper Sandusky on Saturday afternoon. Lauren Johnson was Kenton’s only first place finisher as she claimed the discus with a throw of 115-5.

The Kenton Lady Wildcats made quick work of Liberty-Benton on Saturday putting up 11 in the first two innings on their way to an 18-2 non-conference softball win. The Lady Wildcats, who also beat Van Wert on Friday, improve to 10-5 overall.

DOLA — Hardin Northern started the game strong and ended it strong on the way to an 8-2 win over Ridgemont in Northwest Central Conference softball action Friday afternoon. The Polar Bears scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and, after surrendering two in the top of the third, added five more in the sixth to pull away for the win.

DOLA — Cade McKinley tossed a four hitter and helped his own cause with a two-run double to lead Ridgemont to a 4-0 win over Hardin Northern in a Northwest Central Conference baseball game on Friday afternoon. Hardin Northern got a pair of hits from Brady Cramer and singles from Dane Robinson and Austyn Russler.

Shawn Conover hurled a five-hitter and Kenton pushed the game-winning runs across home plate with a three-run fifth inning on the way to a 4-3 win over state-ranked Van Wert in Western Buckeye League baseball action on Friday.
