MOUNT BLANCHARD — After all of its late-game shenanigans this season, it was fitting that Riverdale withstood a serious fourth-quarter push to hold off Carey, 62-59, in a non-league game on the final day of the girls basketball season. It was more fitting that second all-time leading scorer Sydney Holderman lifted the Falcons to victory for the last time in her home gym.

OXFORD — Ben Logan’s Macy Arn will be competing in the Division II state swim meet later this week. The Ben Logan sophomore qualified with one of the best 16 at-large times after finishing fifth at the Division II district meet at Miami University on Friday.

The Ben Logan varsity competition cheerleading team placed first in its division and won the grand champion overall trophy at the Ohio Northern University cheer competition on Sunday.

The Ada FFA Chapter will celebrate National FFA Week, Feb. 18-25. This year’s theme is Transform Purpose to Action, and it embraces more than 89 years of FFA traditions while looking forward to the organization’s future. Nearly 650,000 members will participate in National FFA Week activities at local, state and national levels. These members have a passion for agriculture.

Freshman Klava Katayama finished second in the 100 yard freestyle at the Division II district meet to become the first girl in Ada High School history to qualify for the high school state swimming championships. Katayama touched in a time of 53.66 seconds to finish behind Bryan’s Ashleigh Franks, who finished in 52.00 seconds.

Friday was a celebratory night at the Kenton High School gymnasium as the 50th anniversary of the 1967 WBL championship team was commemorated at halftime of the Wildcats game against Bath. And the current Kenton Wildcats wanted to do their part to keep things festive.

ADA — The Lincolnview Lancers converted 12 three-pointers against Ada on their way to a 68-39 rout of the Bulldogs in boys basketball action Friday night. The Northwest Conference loss keeps the Bulldogs winless in the league at 0-7, 4-16 overall. Lincolnview climbs to 3-4, 9-12.
