LaRUE — Elgin pulled away over the final three quarters to defeat Ridgemont 73-61 in a Northwest Central Conference girls basketball game on Thursday night. The Gophers led 17-16 after eight minutes before being outscored by the hosts 20-15 in the second quarter and 17-15 in the third stanza.

VAN WERT — The Kenton boys swim team split a double dual meet with Van Wert and Elida on Tuesday night. The Wildcat boys topped the host Cougars 62-42 and were defeated by Elida 67-43.

LIMA — Bath edged Kenton 36-34 in a Western Buckeye League dual wrestling meet on Thursday night.

DEGRAFF — Riverside jumped out to an early lead that was never threatened during a 42-26 victory over Hardin Northern in a Northwest Central Conference girls basketball game on Thursday night.

BELLEFONTAINE — Jonathan Alder took control with a 17-7 first quarter advantage and pushed its lead to 16 points by halftime in pulling away to a 73-51 victory over Ben Logan in Central Buckeye Conference girls basketball action on Wednesday.

ADA — Nate Burger scored 27 points and junior Ryan Bruns had his third double-double of the season with 24 points and 14 rebounds as defeated Wilminton 92-83 in an Ohio athletic Conference game Wednesday night. The Polar Bears improve to 4-2 overall and are 2-0 in OAC play, while the Quakers fall to 3-4, 0-2.

WILMINGTON — Junior Tori Wyss and senior Amy Bullimore led the No. 15-ranked Ohio Northern University women's basketball team to a 65-44 victory at Wilmington on Wednesday night at Raizk Arena. The Polar Bears, who have won six straight, improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

ARLINGTON — Arlington swept Hardin Northern in girls middle school basketball action Wednesday night. The Red Devils won the seventh grade game 22-4.

DOLA — Locked in a one-point game, the Hardin Northern and Ada girls basketball teams both got the looks at the basket they wanted to get in the final seconds of their annual early-season battle on Tuesday night. And both teams converted on those opportunities.
