ADA — Liberty-Benton handed Ada just its second boys soccer loss in nine games this season, topping the Bulldogs 2-0 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association matchup on Thursday afternoon. Ace Gamble had seven saves in goal for the Bulldogs, who fall to 7-2 on the season.

SPRINGFIELD — Ben Logan defeated Central Buckeye Conference crossover foe Shawnee in three games 25-19, 25-21, 25-19 on Thursday night. The Raiders improve to 11-2 overall and 6-1 in CBC play.

HARROD — Upper Scioto Valley defeated Lima Senior 180-242 in a non-league golf match on Thursday at Colonial Hills. Brady Hipsher carded a 42 to lead the Rams, while Kaden Parker was close behind with a 43.

BELLEFONTAINE — Will Kenoyer and Ethan Ricketts both carded 83s to lead Ben Logan to a third place finish in the Mad River Division during the Central Buckeye Conference golf tournament on Thursday at Cherokee Hills. The Raiders, who had a team score of 365, also received a 97 from Garrett Allen and 102s from Bryce Loomis and Carter Stewart. Gavin Clay added a 112.

CELINA — Rocco Longbrake carded an 82 to lead the way for Kenton which finished seventh in the Western Buckeye League golf tournament with a team score of 371 on Thursday at the Lynx. Longbrake's score along with his totals from throughout the season earned him All-WBL honors.

BLUFFTON — Ada and Ridgemont played to a 233-233 tie at Bluffton golf course on Thursday. Lyndon Root shot a 54 to lead the Gophers and earn medalist honors. Ada’s Brevin Sizemore carded a 55.

Jackson Rohrs had three touchdowns to lead the way as Upper Scioto Valley defeated Ridgemont 42-0 in middle school football action on Thursday. Also putting the ball into the end zone for the Rams were Connor Sanders with two touchdowns and Dakota Blauvelt with one.

ADA – Ohio Northern University is planning a memorable Homecoming for 2017. “Bringing Memories Out of the Shadows” is the theme for ONU’s Homecoming events Sept. 22-24. The annual festive event offers an opportunity for former students to return to campus and connect with their alma mater.

After a 1-3 start to the 2017 campaign, the Kenton football team hopes to begin turning its season around when it hosts St. Marys for a Western Buckeye League contest in the friendly confines of Robinson Field at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
