The Indians defeated the Braves 11-1 on Saturday to win the Kenton Little League major league championship.

The Kenton High School football team finished first out of 40 teams competing at the West Virgina University 7 on 7 tournament this past weekend. The Wildcats beat Martinsburg High School, which was the West Virginia large-school state champion last fall, in the championship game.

ADA — The Kenton Area Swim Team split a dual meet with Ada on Thursday night. The KAST girls edged Ada 220-202, while the Alligators won the boys meet 243-136.

The weather seems to be holding for the upcoming events at Memorial Park Golf Course this week. On Tuesday the Ladies League will have its invitational beginning with a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by a scramble and lunch.
