NEW CARLISLE — Stevie Plikerd had three first place finishes to lead the Ben Logan girls track team to a third consecutive Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division Championship on Friday night. Plikerd was first in the long jump (15-8), the 100 dash (13.21 seconds) and the 200 dash (27.45 seconds) as the Raiders finished with 133 points.

FINDLAY — The Riverdale boys were first in both the 3,200 and 1,600 relays on the way to a third place finish in the team standings at the Blanchard Valley Conference Track and Field Meet on Friday. In the 3,200 relay, the quartet of Kyle Evans, Ben Gannon, Justin Scott and Josh Hunter crossed the finish line in 8:39.13, while in the 1,600 relay the same foursome had the top time of 3:32.71.

BLUFFTON — Grace Nelson won the shot put and was third in the discus to lead the Ada girls track team at the Northwest Conference track meet. Nelson won the shot put with a toss of 35-9 3/4 and was third in the discuss with a throw of 104-11.

LIMA — Kenton’s doubles pairing of Kyle Goodin and Kenji Kobayashi dropped both of their matches on Saturday to finish fourth at the Division II sectional tennis tournament at the University of Northwest Ohio. The Wildcat duo was defeated by the Shawnee pair of Michael Rutter and Isaac Hanover 6-3, 6-0 in the semifinals before falling to the Indians pairing of Max Jones and Danny Kesner 6-2, 6-4.

With the break in the weather the Spring League played 18 holes this last week to make up for some of the missed play. In first place with a score of 24 under par is the team of Carl Sloat, Billie Cozad, Becky Sloat and Amber McElroy.

ADA — After watching a three-run lead over Spencerville evaporate in the seventh inning, Ada found itself having to find a way to bring across one more run. All with two outs, Alexis Ennis singled, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and crossed the plate on a base hit by Olivia Alexander to give the Lady Bulldogs the 7-6 Division IV sectional final win on Friday.

VERMILLION — The Kenton baseball team is advancing to the district semifinals for the first time since 1998.

VAN BUREN — Hardin Northern plated four runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally for a 5-3 victory over host Van Buren in a sectional final matchup on Friday night.

NAPOLEON — Host Napoleon defeated Kenton 6-1 in a Division II softball sectional final on Friday.
