NORTH ROBINSON — Colonel Crawford pitcher Sydney Studer tossed a no-hitter as the Eagles cruised to a 17-1 win over Riverdale in non-league softball action on Thursday afternoon. The Eagles offense didn’t waste any time taking control on the scoreboard, plating nine runs in the first inning.

Ridgemont splits dual meet with Elgin

RIDGEWAY — Ridgemont and Elgin split a dual track meet on Wednesday as the Lady Gophers pulled out a 64-47 win, while the Comets won the boys meet 72-58. Winning events for the Lady Gophers were Meadow Cromer in the high jump (4-8); Sidney Richardson in the 100 dash (13.7 seconds), the 200 dash (28.2 seconds) and the 400 dash (1:24.5); Autumn Manns in the shot put (28-0); Brooke Dilbone in the 800 (3:03.1) and Esther Patterson in the discus (91-7).

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Van Buren took control with an eight-run first inning and never looked back on the way to a 14-2 Blanchard Valley Conference softball win over Riverdale on Wednesday. Taylor Theis had an RBI single for the Falcons, while Hannah Morris added a double and a single.

Rams outhit HN, 15-5

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley scored runs in all five innings it batted on the way to a 15-5 Northwest Central Conference baseball victory over Hardin Northern on Wednesday. With the scored tied 1-1 after one inning, the Rams crossed home plate four times in the second inning to take control.

Van Buren outslugs Falcons, 7-2

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Van Buren scored four runs off two Riverdale errors in the first inning and never trailed on the way to a 7-2 win over the Falcons in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game on Wednesday. Evan McKee had a double and a single and Wayne Frey had a two-run double to lead the Falcons.
