Lady Gophers top Triad, improve to 2-1

NORTH LEWISBURG — The Ridgemont girls improved to 2-1 on the season with a 51-43 win over Triad on Thursday night. Priscilla Howland led the Gophers with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Meadow Cromer added 12 points, 9 boards and 7 steals. Faith Jenkins chipped in 12 points and 5 assists Ridgemont travels to Waynesfield-Goshen on Thursday.  

Raider 7th grade wins

ENON — The Benjamin Logan seventh-grade girls basketball team overcame an eight-point halftime deficit and won at Greenon 24-21 on Thursday night.

Boys prep season tips off on Friday

Five area boys teams will be in action on Friday night and the other two will get things going on Saturday night as the boys high school basketball season tips off on Friday night. Ridgemont and Ada look to get the season off to a successful beginning when they face each other at Ridgemont in a matchup of Hardin County Schools.

Polar Bears top OWU to improve to 5-0

ADA — Junior Lindsey Black scored 10 points and added a game-high five assists and a team-best five rebounds as the No. 23-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball won its fifth straight game. The Polar Bears improve to 5-0 overall, while the Ohio Wesleyan University’s Battling Bishops fall to 2-3.

Raiders roll past R’side

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys bowling defeated Riverside 2188-2107 Wednesday night. The Raiders were led by Tyler Nicholas who had a 181 game and a 339 series Mitchel Johnson added a 178 game.
