BELLEFONTAINE — Upper Scioto Valley coach Mike Risner felt like he had just been transported to a different era after his teams 88-61 win over Ben Logan Thursday night.

VAN BUREN — A 16-point halftime lead helped carry the Riverdale Lady Falcons to a 72-45 victory over Van Buren on Thursday.

SIDNEY — A fourth quarter Hardin Northern rally came up short as Lehman Catholic held off the Polar Bears 36-33 in a Northwest Central Conference girls basketball contest Thursday night.

NORTH LEWISBURG — The Ridgemont girls improved to 2-1 on the season with a 51-43 win over Triad on Thursday night. Priscilla Howland led the Gophers with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Meadow Cromer added 12 points, 9 boards and 7 steals. Faith Jenkins chipped in 12 points and 5 assists Ridgemont travels to Waynesfield-Goshen on Thursday.  

ENON — The Benjamin Logan seventh-grade girls basketball team overcame an eight-point halftime deficit and won at Greenon 24-21 on Thursday night.

Five area boys teams will be in action on Friday night and the other two will get things going on Saturday night as the boys high school basketball season tips off on Friday night. Ridgemont and Ada look to get the season off to a successful beginning when they face each other at Ridgemont in a matchup of Hardin County Schools.

ADA — Junior Lindsey Black scored 10 points and added a game-high five assists and a team-best five rebounds as the No. 23-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball won its fifth straight game. The Polar Bears improve to 5-0 overall, while the Ohio Wesleyan University’s Battling Bishops fall to 2-3.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys bowling defeated Riverside 2188-2107 Wednesday night. The Raiders were led by Tyler Nicholas who had a 181 game and a 339 series Mitchel Johnson added a 178 game.

DOLA — Riverdale’s fastbreak attack was in full force on Tuesday night as the Lady Falcons converted Hardin Northern turnovers into points, eventually pulling away for the 69-34 victory.
