The Kenton boys tennis team came away with their school record sixth Western Buckeye League victory by beating visiting Wapakoneta 4-1 Friday on senior night. The Wildcats are now 7-5 on the year and 6-3 in the WBL. Kenton’s Garraden Wirbel secured a 6-3, 6-2 win over Brayden Hooker at first singles. At second singles, Kenton’s Seth Spencer picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win over Ian Bachar. Kenton’s Richard Huang fell 6-1, 6-0 to Reese Schadl at third singles. Kenton’s first doubles duo of Wyatt Campbell and Cale Harshfield defeated Thomas Finkelmeier and Tyler Roberts 6-2, 6-1. Kenton also won at second doubles as Jack Whitmer and Ethan McNamara defeated Wapakoneta’s Keaton Walker and Brayden Dickman 6-2, 4-6, 7-5.
