MOUNT BLANCHARD — Brooke Gerdeman had 17 kills and six blocks to lead Division IV No. 11 Leipsic to a 25-19, 25-13, 25-17 victory over Riverdale to close out Blanchard Valley Conference play Monday night.

The Trophy Bassmasters recently competed in their final outing of the season as they once again traveled to Lake Erie for their year-end Club Classic.

COLUMBUS — Springfield Northwestern defeated Ben Logan 2-1 in a Central Buckeye League boys soccer match held at Crew Stadium on Monday night.

Trailing Bellefontaine 1-0 at halftime, the Kenton girls soccer team came out pressuring in the second half and had several decent scoring chances in the first 15 minutes before Sidney Plott buried a deflection of an Ellie Miller shot off the crossbar to tie the game with 24:35 left in the game.

UPPER SANDUSKY — Riverdale hopes a challenging schedule — although it did not result in many wins early — will produce a better team as the end of the boys soccer season approaches. It did on Saturday with the Falcons taking a 4-1 victory against Upper Sandusky. Riverdale is unbeaten in its last three matches after starting the year 2-8-1.

With only one loss so far this season, the Ben Logan volleyball team earned the top seed in the Division II Tecumseh District for postseason play.

ANNA — The Ben Logan girls cross country team placed 14th out of 27 schools Saturday at the Anna Cross Country Invitational.

Kenton earned the five seed in the boys soccer Division II Elida District and would need to win two home games to reach the district semifinals.

Riverdale earned the No. 2 seed in the Division III Findlay District for the girls soccer playoffs.

BELLEFONTAINE — Blake Espinoza and Drew Hoppe netted goals in the first half as Kenton defeated Bellefontaine 2-1 in a non-conference soccer matchup Saturday afternoon.
