She told the group it was important for the team to not rest on its laurels after winning the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division during their junior year, but to leave a lasting mark on the program in their final season.

SPENCERVILLE — Makayala Callahan had a goal and an assist as Ada defeated Spencerville 2-0 in a Northwest Conference girls soccer match Saturday.

BELLEFONTAINE — Mechanicsburg defeated Ben Logan 4-3 in non-conference girls soccer action Saturday. Stevie Plikerd, Kaley Asbury and Jolie Orahood each had goals for the Raiders. Plikerd added an assist. The Lady Raiders host Urbana at 6 p.m. today.

DEFIANCE — Kenton scored a pair of second-half goals to overcome a halftime deficit Saturday night and defeat Defiance 2-1 in Western Buckeye League boys soccer.

BLUFFTON — The Upper Scioto Valley volleyball team defeated Elida and fell to Bluffton in a tri-match on Saturday.

VAN BUREN — The Kenton volleyball team was topped on the road by Van Buren on Saturday, falling 25-9, 25-14, 25-15.

ST. PARIS — The Ben Logan girls cross country team was seventh of 12 teams with 124 points at the Graham Invitational Saturday morning. Versailles won the meet with 32 points.

Continental’s Jacob Williams scored the game’s lone goal 16 minutes into the second half as the Pirates edged Riverdale 1-0 in a non-conference boys soccer match Saturday.

DOLA — With the help of quarterback Bradlee Watts, a big first half from Hardin Northern allowed the Polar Bears to cruise to a 35-20 win over Northwest Central Conference football foe Waynesfield-Goshen on Friday night.

Kenton’s defense had no answer for St. Marys running backs Eric Spicer and Julius Fisher as the duo combined for 350 yards and four rushing touchdowns to lead the Roughriders to a 58-14 rout of the Wildcats in Western Buckeye League action Friday night.
