Fort Recovery gets by Rams

FORT RECOVERY — Fort Recovery dominated the second quarter Saturday and went on to defeat Upper Scioto Valley 60-48 in nonconference girls basketball. Callie Daniels scored six of her nine points in the first quarter as USV (10-2) built a 17-13 after the opening quarter.

Big second quarter helps BL win, 50-34

LEWISTOWN — Ben Logan dominated the second quarter Saturday against Indian Lake to take control in a 50-34 girls basketball victory that left the Raiders unbeaten in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division play.

Inside game lifts USV by cold-shooting R’mont

McGUFFEY — Ridgemont made three of its first five field goal attempts Friday night as the Gophers built an early lead on Upper Scioto Valley in Northwest Central Conference boys basketball. After that, the Gophers went cold and the Rams took over as USV went on to win 63-41.

Raiders rally, but fall short at end

BELLEFONTAINE — A down-to-the-wire finish at Benjamin Logan saw the host Raiders nearly pull off a fourth-quarter comeback against Northwestern on Friday night, coming up just short 58-55 in a Central Buckeye Conference boys basketball game.

Fourth quarter costs Kenton in road loss

ST. MARYS — Kenton started the second half strong and held a lead after three quarters Friday night. The bad news for the Wildcats was they were outscored by 11 points over the final eight minutes and lost 44-34 to St. Marys in Western Buckeye League boys basketball.

Polar Bears can’t overcome slow start

LIMA — Hardin Northern was held to nine first-half points Friday night and couldn’t rally in a Northwest Central Conference basketball contest won 54-42 by Lima Temple Christian. Temple Christian led 12-3 after the first quarter and 20-9 at halftime.

Ada topped, 60-39

SPENCERVILLE — Spencerville jumped out to an eight-point lead after the first quarter and went on to defeat Ada 60-39 in Northwest Conference boys basketball Friday night. Spencerville (7-2) led 14-6 after the first quarter, 27-18 at halftime and 44-29 after three quarters.

North Baltimore beats Falcons

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Tommy Dusseau scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds but the Riverdale boys basketball team fell, 52-42, against North Baltimore in a Blanchard Valley Conference game Friday. Riverdale (3-8, 0-5 BVC) won the first quarter, 14-12, before being outscored in the middle quarters, 31-13.
