Oates repeats as WBL champ

LIMA — For the second straight year Kenton senior Claire Oates dominated the Western Buckeye League and won the first singles title at the WBL girls tennis tournament. “It feels great,” Oates said of repeating.

KHS wins golf invite

HARROD — Kenton won the Allen East Invite on Saturday in boys golf action. The Wildcats shot 315 to beat Bath by 10 strokes to win the 16-team tournament.

Riverdale dominant in win over Botkins

BOTKINS — Riverdale allowed one shot in a non-league girls soccer match at Botkins on Saturday and got back in the win column with a 3-0 shutout. Gabi Rodriguez, Reygan Frey and Aubreah Manns scored for the Falcons (8-2), with Sydney Holderman, Taylor Frey and Kelsay Martin assisting.

Big first half propels Van Wert to 38-0 victory over Wildcats

VAN WERT — It was a perfect night for one football team at Van Wert's Eggers Stadium on Friday night. Unfortunately for Kenton fans it came at the Wildcats’ expense as the host Cougars controlled every aspect of the game in scoring 31 first-half points on the way to a 38-0 Western Buckeye League victory.

Forced turnovers, late stand lift Bulldogs over Col. Grove

ADA — Ada forced eight turnovers and made a game-changing goal line stand late in the third quarter to help propel the hometown Bulldogs to a 19-7 victory over Columbus Grove in a gritty Northwest Conference clash Friday night. The Bulldogs end a modest two-game losing streak and improve to 3-2 for the season and 1-2 in the conference.
