DOLA — Hardin Northern held its spring sports awards program on Thursday, handing out awards to athletes participating in baseball, softball and boys and girls track and field.

DAYTON — The Ben Logan track teams did not place in the top four in either event they competed in during the second day of Division II regional competition on Saturday.

TIFFIN —The second day of the Division III regional track meet did not start out quite as planned for Upper Scioto Valley’s Brittany Holbrook. The Ram senior fouled on two of her three long jump attempts and failed to make the finals.

COLUMBUS — Dale Oates became the first Kenton boys tennis player to compete at the state tournament on Friday morning. The match didn’t go as hoped though, as Oates fell to Bay Village Bay’s Adam Krueger 6-4, 6-2 in the first round.

DAYTON — Davis Bowers is going to Columbus. The Ben Logan senior cleared 14-0 to finish fourth in the pole vault during the first day of competition at the Division II regional track meet in Dayton on Thursday.

Kenton Middle School will be looking to offer boys and girls soccer next fall for those students entering grades 7 and 8.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale is in need of a junior high volleyball coach.

The first farm Reds defeated the Rockies 3-2 in Kenton Little League action on Wednesday. Brenden Ruth had two hits and Anthony Hunt added a double to lead the Reds at the plate.

Kenton had three players recognized on the all-Western Buckeye League softball teams released earlier this week. Wildcat pitcher Kaylee Burd garnered second team honors, while CJ Clum was selected to the third team and Jenna Rodenberger was honorable mention.
