Arlington beats Ada, HN in tri

ARLINGTON — Arlington defeated both Hardin Northern and Ada on Saturday in a nonconference volleyball tri-match. The Red Devils topped Hardin Northern 25-15, 25-16. Holly Wilson had six kills and two aces in the loss. Cassidy Deckling added four kills and a pair of aces for the Polar Bears.

Raider girls soccer beats London, 5-2

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan defeated London 5-2 in nonconference girls soccer Saturday. Hayley Boysel led the Lady Raiders with two goals and two assists. Kenzie Heater, Taylor Coy and Kaley Asbury also scored. Shelby Kramer added an assist. Ben Logan goalkeeper Darian Rockhold made four saves. The Raiders host Shawnee on Wednesday.

Kenton dominates second half in comeback victory

When it counted on Friday night, the Kenton Wildcats came through in a big way. Trailing Defiance 21-20 at halftime, Kenton’s defense posted a shutout over the final two quarters, while its offense put two touchdowns on the scoreboard as the Wildcats pulled away for a 35-21 victory in a Western Buckeye League opener.

Ada defeats Arlington with two late TDs

ARLINGTON — Ada only allowed Arlington to gain 54 yards of offense on Friday night, but the outcome of the game was in doubt until late. The Bulldogs (2-0) scored a pair of touchdowns in the final 5:21 to grab a 28-14 victory.

DOLA — Hardin Northern’s defense came up big when it needed to Friday night. The Polar Bears stopped Fairfield Christian on downs twice in the fourth quarter when the Knights were in Hardin Northern’s red zone to help preserve a 14-6 victory.

Slow start costs Riverdale in defeat

MOUNT BLANCHARD — A slow first two quarters hindered the Riverdale Falcons’ comeback effort in the second half as they fell 39-20 to Cardington-Lincoln on Friday night. The host Falcons fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Pirates improve to 1-1.

USV football blows by Cory-Rawson, 44-14

RAWSON — Jason Moots threw three touchdown passes and Austin Sloan rushed for two more as Upper Scioto Valley pulled away for a 44-14 win over Cory-Rawson on Friday night. The Rams, 1-1, led 14-7 at halftime before putting the game out of reach with 30 points in the third quarter.
